Eurodems Congress in Florence

Participation of the IED


The Institute of European Democrats was well represented at the Eurodems Congress in Florence at the mythical Station of Leopolda in this special year of European elections.

The congress uncovered and approved the EDP manifesto, and gave special delegation to Sandro Gozi to negotiate with ALDE and Renew group for a united platform to, on a strong common platform, fight against populism and extremism that threaten the whole continent.

IED vice president Gabi Schmidt took a distinguished participation in the Green Europe Panel, where she talked about the German energy transition and the particularity of Bavaria as a leader of this transition.

Alenca Čičin-Šain and Gerrit Van Otterloo took also part to the panels showing the high relevance of IED in the elaboration of EDP thinking, research and base. Irene Mandole came as well all the way from Cyprus to represent the Citizen Platform.

Alexandra Leuliette underline the how relevant it is for IED and EDP to do political events on the International day of woman’s right, and stressed in a tribune published in her home country that equality will benefit the whole society.

An election year full of promises for the European Democrats, were tolerance, equality and progress are our main weapons.
