This report explores the crucial role of women, particularly mothers, in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Through case studies from Cyprus, Palestine, Israel, Nigeria, and the Balkans, it highlights how women have mobilized to heal historical wounds, advocate for peace, and challenge patriarchal structures that perpetuate violence. It examines the power of storytelling, forgiveness, education, and grassroots organization in fostering reconciliation and sustainable peace. The report also outlines seven key proposals to enhance women's participation in peace processes, including quotas in decision-making, educational reforms, and a renewed global movement for disarmament and gender equality. Ultimately, it argues that the European Union, founded on a vision of peace, should embrace and amplify the soft power of mothers to counter global conflict and build a more just world.
