Abstract
This research paper explore the history of the principle of interoperability and how to use this legal instrument in order to accelerate the transition from the EU linear economy to a circular economy sustainable in the long term. It also recommends that this process be placed under the aegis of social justice, i. e. by encouraging European citizens to invent the democratic economy of tomorrow.
