The Conference "Cultural Diplomacy for the Mediterranean, Europe and Middle East in the XXI Century" organized by the Institute of European Democrats with the financial support of the European Parliament, was held in Palermo Friday 8 June 2018 with the participation of high-level international speakers.
The conference addressed the main challenges and opportunities arising in the Mediterranean - Middle East area, in a moment of crucial change for geopolitical and strategic reasons. The role of common heritage shared roots and values, places culture at the core of our common past and of any future vision. Italy, a 21st-century cultural superpower, has a key role to play, with Sicily being the crossroad of any future strategy based on economic opportunities, political stability, cultural development.
