On Tuesday 30 September, the Institute of European Democrats and Alleanza Popolare organised the conference on "Smart Cities, New Model of Democratic Life" in San Marino. The Republic of San Marino, sovereign microstate situated in the Italian territory, is member of the Council of Europe and the oldest existing republic in the world. The panel of experts engaged in a lively discussion and exchange with participants on the concrete possibilities for San Marino to develop a more modern, efficient and participatory urban life, that is normally indicated with the term Smart City.
